Grace Gold is a boutique hair salon which incorporates all things relative to the natural world, being both a sustainable and cruelty-free salon, located in Melbourne’s culturally diverse suburb of Brunswick. At the centre of Grace Gold’s philosophy is providing each client a moment out of their day to relax into an oasis-like space, with highly experienced colour specialists working to ensure every client’s hair needs are met. Clients will enjoy authentic conversations, leaving the salon feeling reinvigorated.
At Grace Gold we use Keune products & colours. Keune does not test on animals and remains family owned in both the Netherlands and ANZIS. As a company Keune pride themselves in upholding good ethical and moral standards, as well as ensuring that all of their products are of high quality and safe.
The future of our planet is very important to everyone at Grace Gold. We have joined Sustainable Salons to minimise our salons footprint. We recycle 100% of our waste. It is divided into six categories – plastic, metal, paper, hair, chemical and food waste.
Plastic is sent to specialist local plastic recyclers where it is cleaned and repurposed, keeping it in circulation and out of our oceans!
Hair clippings are stuffed into stockings to make Hair Booms that help soak up oil spills on our coastlines. It is also repurposed in local community gardens for composting
Sustainable Salons allows you to also donate your hair to charitable organisations to create wigs for those suffering from cancer or alopecia. The recommended length of hair needs to be 20cm or more to be donated.
If the length of hair cut off is 20cm or more, the hair will be donated to charitable organisations to create wigs for those who suffer from cancer or alopecia.
Our chemical waste is neutralised and turned into recycled water that is used in roadworks and construction.
What’s best is that all proceeds are donated to Oz Harvest and Kiwi Harvest to provide meals for the homeless.
We also use Eco Heads at our basin area. Eco Heads double the water pressure but use 65% less water then non water saving shower heads. They are also 100% recyclable.
