I love these guys so much. I've had 20 years of very average hairdressing experiences and a few years of very bad experiences. But I walked into Grace Gold and Maddy nailed it first time and has kept nailing it EVERY SINGLE TIME since. The salon is super chill. I can work on my laptop while I get my hair done, and Maddie is always really thoughtful, not keeping me there for any longer than I need to be, and keeping it low maintenance for me so that I only have to come in every three months (this is for colour people! Not easy to achieve!). Everyone is super friendly and I like that I'm supporting a female-owned business.

Eco Heads
Did you know the average salon basin uses 150 gallons each day? Eco Heads are the first of its kind to provide lower water consumption WITH improved water pressure. While using 65% less water than regular non-water-saving showerheads, this showerhead doubles on water pressure to cut rinse time in half!
Eco Heads aren’t just the more sustainable choice for us, they also help us give our clients a softer, smoother finish to their hair by introducing negative ions to the water stream. Negative ions are capable of softening water, introducing more moisture to your hair while smoothening out the hair shaft.

Animal Cruelty Free
We’re strictly against animal testing (if our resident pups at Grace Gold weren’t proof enough). As advocates of cruelty-free products, we use Keune retail and Evo colour (which is both cruelty-free AND vegan!) for our hairdressing services. Keune is a family owned company in the Netherlands and ANZIS, that prides themselves on upholding strong ethical standards when it comes to manufacturing their products. We can help you achieve all your hair goals with products that aren’t just of a high quality, but safe too.

FAQs
How long will my appointment take?
Depending on your hair and what you’d like to get done, appointment times will vary. We usually allow 3 hours for a colour and cut, however if your hair is long and thick, please let us know prior to your appointment so we can allow more time. For Balayage, your first visit with us will usually take 3-4 hours at most!
We love seeing inspiration photos so we can be on the same page with you on what you want to achieve with your hair. We offer complimentary consultations for all our clients, so if you’re unsure of what you would like to do with your hair, feel free to give us a call and we can arrange a consultation for you.
Do I have to pay a deposit?
We require a $50 deposit which will be deducted off of your final service price. Please note that our price list located on our website are starting prices. Depending on your length and thickness, prices will be adjusted accordingly.
If you don’t turn up to your appointment you will lose your $50 deposit. Future bookings made with us may require a percentage of the cost to be paid prior to your appointment. However, we understand that sometimes things happen that are out of our control and we will use our discretion to assess each case.
What happens if I’m late for my appointment?
Please try to arrive 10 minutes before your appointment. This allows plenty of time for your stylist to get your set-up for your appointment. If you’re running late please contact the salon so we can let your stylist know. If you’re running more than 15 minutes late we may need to reschedule your appointment but we will try our best to accommodate you.
What products should I use on my hair at home?
We recommend using salon grade shampoo and conditioner to ensure the longevity of your colour. If you have been using supermarket products please let us know prior to your appointment as this could have adverse effects on the integrity of your hair and therefore impact the final result of your colour.
Do I need to confirm my appointment?
3 days before your appointment we will send you a confirmation text. If you don’t respond within 24 hours, unfortunately we will have to cancel your appointment as we have a waiting list. We recommend booking your appointment 6-8 weeks in advance to avoid disappointment.
Do you have a cancellation policy?
We understand that life can be unpredictable and you may need to reschedule your appointment at the last minute. Cancellations are assessed on a case-by-case basis.
Do you do short haircuts?
Instead of focusing on all aspects of hairdressing, we have decided to make colour our main focus. We provide sustainable hairdressing services, in-salon treatments & low maintenance colour. We do haircuts as well but only medium to long. If you do have short hair, we know of many experience hairdressers in the Brunswick area who we can refer you to so don’t hesitate to ask.
My hair isn’t quite what I expected, what should I do?
Please don’t hesitate to contact us if you hair hasn’t turned out the way you wanted it to. However, we do need to know within two weeks of your appointment. We will do our best to meet your needs, although we do require that you use salon grade shampoo and conditioner after your service to ensure that you meet the requirements for a re-do.
