Prevent split ends with these easy tips!

Regardless of what hair type or texture you have, split ends are a common curse to all. We understand that there’s no concrete recipe to follow in order to get split-end-free hair, but we have a small list of simple tips you can try to keep split ends at bay and get healthier hair:

Get regular trims

Book an appointment with your hairdresser every 6-8 weeks regardless of how long your hair is. If you take longer to trim your hair, your ends will split further up your shaft, ultimately leaving you with no choice but to have to cut it shorter than you wanted.

Stop over shampoo-ing

Your hair is at its most fragile state when wet, and washing it daily with shampoo can cause split ends and increase your risk of breakage. A good piece of advice is to limit the amount of shampoo you put in your hair by twisting your hair into a ponytail and using the same amount of shampoo as the diameter of your ponytail.

Use Argan Oil products

Hair oil is a must for healthy and luscious hair. The liquid gold of hair care is Argan Oil, and using products that contain this does wonders for your hair. Whether it’s through a mask or a deep hair conditioning, gain instant moisture and prevent split ends with argan oil.

Avoid hot showers

Do you know what happens to your scalp while you indulge yourself with a warm shower? Hot water makes your cuticles swell up which results in the formation of split ends. Shower in lukewarm water or the coldest water you can tolerate to have a safer bath, seal your cuticles and protect your hair.

Invest in a microfiber towel

You should always treat your hair gently. Regular towels are far too harsh on your hair so you’re more likely to damage it. Instead, you can wrap your hair using a clean microfiber towel and let it absorb all the excess moisture while protecting your hair from breaking.

Resist the urge to pull

No matter how tempting it is to pick and pull on your split ends, keep in mind that the more you do this, it leaves more room for further split ends to emerge. A simpler way to get rid of your current split ends is to get regular trims.

With these simple tips, you’re one step closer to split free hair. Don’t forget to moisturize your hair with a hair mask and wash it once a week with shampoo and conditioner for luscious hair.
