6 Easy Upgrades for Your Hair Care Routine

Do you have a hair care routine? If you don’t, it’s about time you start one, and if you do already have one, it’s time you upgrade it! Choosing the right routine for your specific hair type might get a little complicated, but that’s why we have a compilation of steps you can easily incorporate into both your hair routine and lifestyle!

Turn down the temperature

Even though a steaming hot shower can feel like absolute heaven, it’s the worst option for your hair. Warm hair strips down all the natural moisture you have in your head leaving your scalp dry. Try washing your hair in lukewarm water the next time you hop into the shower.

Scalp Scrub

Scalp scrubs are very useful to exfoliate your scalp, and this helps in breaking down any product buildup and excess oils, resulting in a healthy looking scalp.

Consider temporary hair coloring

Permanent hair color is known to alter the structure of your hair for results while demi-permanent coloring just coats it. The more potent chemicals involved in permanent coloring can make this more harmful for your hair. Temporary coloring makes the coloring process oh-so-easy and you can do it yourself too. You can also easily wash the color off your hair with shampoo, this means you can play with different colors without having to commit to one.

Try hot oil treatment

For overly dry hair or split ends, oil treatment is an amazing option to save your hair from damage and to help restore moisture. To get started, choose an oil of your choice from coconut, argon, avocado, olive, almond or jojoba oils and heat it lightly. Massage it thoroughly into your scalp and leave it on for at least 20 minutes before you rinse it out with a conditioner.

Vitamins

Your nutrient intake can have a big impact on the health of your hair. Vitamins such as Vitamin A, Vitamin C, biotin and mineral iron are some of the best nutrients for your hair to get it looking healthy and shiny.

Use a wide-tooth comb

Using a wide tooth comb to brush your hair is far safer than your usual hair brush as this allows you to de-tangle your hair faster without ripping or damaging your hair. It also helps distribute your natural oils.

A little effort can go a long way! These are simple upgrades you can add to your routine for healthy and shiny hair!
